Who is Alara Sabuncuyan?
Hi there! I'm Alara Sabuncuyan, a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist with 7 years of experience in the field. My journey began with earning my Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Dallas, followed by my Master's degree from The George Washington University. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills in various settings, working with both children and adults.
My career started in private practice in Maryland, where I worked with a diverse group of clients. I then expanded my expertise in home health in Texas, helping children and young adults achieve their communication goals. Following this, I moved to California, where I had the privilege of working at a non-public school specializing in services for the autistic community in the Bay Area. I am currently in the public schools in the Bay Area supporting elementary and middle school-aged children in their speech and language development. I have formal training in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) and help support with AAC evaluations, trials, and the implementation of therapy. I believe everyone deserves a voice, and I’m dedicated to making sure each child has the tools they need to communicate confidently and meaningfully.
When I’m not helping my clients reach their full potential, I love to unwind by binge watching TV shows and hitting the gym. I also enjoy exploring new destinations with my husband, Alex, and making the most of every moment with our dog, Banksy.
